Teaching Science and the Bible in Churches

 Many people, Christian and non-Christian, are intimidated by the sciences.  While science can be intimidating for the average man or woman, the frequent attacks on the Christian faith from many sectors of the sciences causes many Christians to totally disassociate from science.  This is an unnecessary and misguided response.  Those who shy away from science miss a fascinating study into the mysteries of creation and the God of creation.

 For 40 years, Wayne Deckert has taught science and pre-med classes.  But a recurring delight in his tenure was to receive non-science students pursuing other majors who "had" to take science as a requirement for graduation.  Time and time again, he won them over.  They found science enjoyable and fascinating.

 Today Wayne has given himself to minister in churches.  What he did in the lives of skeptical students he is doing in the lives of believers.  And they find, contrary to the voice of many scientists, that the natural sciences support the Bible's account of creation and the earth we know.

 Wayne Deckert is a retired professor of Natural Science from Clearwater Christian college in Clearwater, Florida.  His education comes from Bob Jones University, Minot State University (BS), the University of Nebraska-Omaha (MS) and the University of North Dakota (D.A.).
